The first week of 2026 is already behind us meaning the new year has really started. First of all to those who haven´t seen the New Years wishes via the Official Beastformers Blog Instagram account @Beastformers The White Rabbit wishes all friends, fellow collectors, fans and everyone else who’s interested in the Battle Beasts (BB) and related lines all the best for 2026! And in case you didn´t notice yet it´ll be the Year of the Horse!*
A new year always comes with new challenges, problems and realisations but one thing is for sure, also this year the Beastformers Blog will continue to exist because this is the Annual Review and Preview post for the Beastformers Blog. Which means we´ll be taking a look back at 2025, the Year of the Wood Snake, but we´ll also be looking ahead into the new year to see what 2026 might bring because from a historical perspective this is an important anniversary year in the world of Beastformers / Battle Beasts. But before we get going there´s one tradition we can´t go without…
Annual New Years Eve event
This annual New Year’s Post (Instagram) was also this year a feast to witness. Traditionally this also means the transition between Beasts so where the Wood Snake of 2025 made place the Fire Horse of 2026 claims its position and how. It directly commanded the little pyrotechnicians of the PPA (Pugnacious Penguin Army) to create an imaginary Fireworks solely made up out of designs based on its own weapon, the Toma Horse, for a special #BeastformersNightSkyNYE lighting up Planet Beast. It also means that a lot of awesome designs from the past years weren’t visible but even with this ¨limited¨ variety it turned out to be an amazing event!
* Officially the year of the Horse (Chinese Zodiac) will start on February 17th 2026 but Planet Beast has a slightly different position in space compared to Earth
Will this January become a ¨Dry January¨ in terms of Beast purchases for the collection or have you already made the first trades or purchases? So far The White Rabbit has, for the first time in years, not added or purchased anything for the Beastformers Collection yet in these first days of 2026. Is that a worrying idea… Probably not because all collectors now it’s a matter of time. Especially with interesting new things coming up this year, maybe we´ll see one or more new Redux figures from @BattleBeastsredux or new beast creations from any of the other artists within the BB Community and of course there’s always the chance that there´ll be new discoveries made because also in 2025 the BB Community was surprised with various new discoveries. Let’s take a final look back at 2025 the Year of the Wood Snake.
REVIEW 2025
Similar to 2024 this was a very, and too, slow year for the Beastformers Blog not because there´s nothing new to share or no discoveries were made because compared to previous years I dare to say that 2025 was probably one of the most interesting Beast years in quite a while but merely because of the fact that no Posts or new Pages were added. The reason for this is time although that´s not the main reason because the main reason stays the same and that´s the lack of solid facts that help solving some of the puzzles we´re trying to complete for years. Sometimes collecting, especially if you´re interested in the background history of a toy line like The White Rabbit, is one big puzzle for which, at times, it feels impossible to find the right pieces. In this case it´s often a combination of either not having the correct (in good condition) figures to explain the background story OR the figures are there but the facts to solidify the background information aren´t confirmed or in some cases completely unknown at all. One of the main reasons you´re visiting or consulting the Beastformers Blog is hopefully because of the interesting and reliable information you can find here, since the beginning (2013) a certain standard was set and that’s always been maintained throughout the years. A standard that makes adding new and valuable information becomes harder and harder simply because of the fact that the more time passes the bigger the chances are that we might never be able to find some of the crucial answers. But every new discovery might be that crucial piece of the puzzle so let´s all keep an eye out and who knows what stories might be completed in the years to come.
Before going into some interesting discoveries from 2025 let´s first take a glance at the stats of this year because often that says a lot about how, and if, the Beastformers Blog is indeed still interesting.
The numbers are showing two things, you could say it’s good and bad news, because the number of Views have decreased a bit compared to 2024. This is not very strange knowing that there was literally just one Post (apart from the 2025 Review-Preview Post) during this whole year. But on the other hand the number of Visitors had never been this high. This shows that even though there´s not been a lot of news the information that´is already present on the Beastformers Blog is appreciated and still consulted by many of you!
In 2025 the Beastformers Blog was visited/consulted by more than 9200 visitors from 104** different countries all over the world. Total number of views for 2025 was 40,500 with the most Views (15,226) coming from the US.
** With more and more people using a VPN it’s likely that the actual number of unique different countries is lower.
Good numbers or not and a high position in the search engines or not it´s all irrelevant to The White Rabbit because it is working on something that’s bigger than numbers and that´s preserving and sharing the History of the Beasts in the best possible way. It´s quite remarkable, or not, that the Beastformers Blog or information from it does more and more show up in AI generated search results as well. Let´s make clear that The White Rabbit does not support, or trust, any of the AI generated material because it often lacks a lot of crucial details, verifications, so even for an AI Bot it must be a good thing to know that the Beastfromers Blog exists because it´s, for a Bot, easily obtained and freely available information that´s solid. What AI doesn´t know is the effort of time and research that´s gone into it to putting it all together in a correct and factfull way because I dare to say that even the biggest AI servers won´t be able to achieve these results. Simply because it’s information that´s spread or known only within the BB Community and it´s often based upon information and items that aren´t digitally available or documented at all or very poorly. So for those who value AI don´t trust all of it and if you really want to learn and know more about this line stick to reliable resources and connect with the BB Community!
2025 Interesting discoveries/events
As mentioned earlier in this post 2025 was one of the better years when it comes to new discoveries within the Battle Beasts world.Probably one of the best items that aired in 2025 were the Original Prototype X-sell Chromes from 1988, a lot of 11 pictures giving us a unique insight into some Prototype stages of, obviously based on the year, Laser Beasts including some very special footage of the Beast Eater. So far there´s only been artwork known of this elusive Beast Eater but now for the first time ever we´ve actually seen pictures of Prototype versions of it!
It doesn´t get much better than this but as often with finds like these it´s ¨just another piece of the puzzle¨ that raises more questions than it answers. Yes we do now know that a Prototype version actually existed so in line with the know box artwork you could assume they´re getting close to actually making it available but WHY did that not happen, does the Prototype still exist (probably not), etc. tons of questions that arise which due to the lack of additional information we can only guess about. And this is exactly why it´s so hard to put proper articles together even for the most unique finds.
The White Rabbit itself also had a couple of nice finds/additions in 2025, some of which will be revealed at a later moment in time but one of the surprises definitely was the discovery of the Spanish Gumball Bootleg Giraffe. So far, since they´re first discovered by international collectors in 2008, none had ever seen or heard about a Giraffe actually existing within this series so you can imagine the surprise once it popped up. It´s not added/updated on the Bestias De Combate Bootleg page yet but there´s no doubt it belongs to this line.
Also in 2025 there have been various interesting BB creations revealed and released by the various artists and creators that are active within the BB Community. Like the Lacerating Lynx by @BattleBeastsredux or the Oracle Beasts by @The_Cosmic_Bird_Customs definitely two accounts to keep an eye out for also in 2026!
And last but not least there´s also one special ¨event¨ in 2025 which you could hardly have missed because of the hype.
Before we wrap up 2025 completely there´s one final thing left to do because it might have been slow on the Beastformers Blog but that doesn´t mean The White Rabbit hasn´t been active at all because it still managed to post 3 Instagram Posts via the Official Beastformers Blog Instagram account @Beastformers on a weekly base. Posts which in some cases are just pictures but often they do come with interesting details as well. Have you for instance already played a #FindtheErrorBeast game already? Best 9 on Instagram
As usual The White Rabbit made its own selection of the ¨Best Nine” from the @Beastformers Instagram account because it´s doesn´t care about most likes/views or whatever and judges quality or interesting finds differently than algorithm driven bots. While the additions to each picture were rather short on Instagram here there´s a little bit more depth and info about why these 9 have been selected.
Starting from Top Left to Bottom Right (random order of importance);
– In 2025 The White Rabbit decided to purchase a 3D printed Battle Beasts logo from a UK maker. It’s usually not very fond of these types of creations because in many cases they only look good on pictures or it´s a just a render/AI image and the real life version looks much crappier but in this case The White Rabbit was lucky and this is definitely a logo you could display alongside your collection. – The 3 Carps, one of which (you can probably tell by now) also made it into an Error Beast Post. A nice line up showing the Eye color variation within this figure. Apart from the so-called YEKK (Yellow Eyed Killer Karp) which is a rather special Beasts the Paint Error (Error Beast) Carp that´s missing the eye color definitely was one of the most interesting Error Beast finds of 2025 that made it into the Beastformers Collection. – This one has already been mentioned as one of the surprise finds of 2025 because here the Spanish Bootleg Giraffe is shown again amongst its colorful fellow Bootleg Beasts. (Posted Jul. 23th 2025)
– Have you ever played the real Battle Beasts game with two Beasts Battling each other and do you know which Poses they´ve to take during the various stages of the Battle? – A real vintage image extracted from the Japanese Laser Beasts Book showing the Laser Beasts in their garage preparing and maintaining their Battle Chariots. imagine the awesome job that Japanese photographer must have had back in the days taking those awesome pictures for the storyline that it shared in this awesome booklet. – Collage of 3 of the first High End Laser Beasts (101-103). Besides the fact that these Japanese exclusive Laserguns are awesome designs they´re also quite hard to find these days. But as you probably know this goes for a lot of the items within the High End range. (Posted Feb. 27th 2025)
– Every year, at least for the past few years, The White Rabbit uses its Xmas Post on Instagram as a moment to contemplate and share some thoughts about the problems that are present in all or our daily lives. In today’s world it’s becoming more and more questionable whether we or the Beasts are actually living on Planet Beast… (Posted Dec. 25th 2025)

– A Greek, Greek Battle Beasts (GBB) / Tepato Maxoi, Masterset is a dream for many collectors and even though The White Rabbit hasn´t been very actively chasing anny GBB anymore it´s stil on the look out and luckily it already has quite a few ¨gems¨ within the Beastformers Collection already. PREVIEW 2026
What will the Year of the Fire Horse bring for, or to, the Beastformers Blog? That´s something we´ll get to later on in this post but first let´s take a moment to realise the following. Because when we rewind 40 years back in time we arrive in the year 1986! Yes, it´s that long ago already… But 1986 is a very special year when it comes to our beloved Battle Beasts. 1986 Is the year the Battle Beasts were invented by TAKARA in Japan. All of the documentation in regards to the Beasts shows that prior to this year there´s been no Official sign of the existence of this toy line. It is possible that the first designs/concepts by TAKARA were made in 1985 and it came to live in 1986 but that´s something we don´t know. What we do know is that alongside TAKARA in 1986 HASBRO bought the Rights for the name Battle Beasts and it informed other companies who potentially could receive a Licence to release BB related items on how to formulate this correctly, as shown on this page from the HASBRO Line Art Kit 1986.
In this Line Art Kit it´s also clearly explained that the actual release of this Toy Line was scheduled for 1987 which as we all know was the case. But in 1986 the first Beasts were literally born because when you grab just and Beast from Series 1 and check the Year that´s marked on the backside of it you´ll find this specific year, 1986, because that´s the year in which this figure was designed and sculpted by the artists working for TAKARA. 40 Years ago, incredible, right?!

In the previous Preview Review Post from 2025 The White Rabbit mentioned there´d be some Reviews about various BB related creations that have been created during the past year(s). The intention to do this has been present for a few years but believe it or not the concerning items haven´t made it to the Beastformers Dungeon yet… Therefore this didn´t happen in 2025. Will 2026 be THE year in which all of those awesome creations and items that have been purchased/traded mainly from creators and fellow collectors within the US finally come this way? Let´s hope so. The White Rabbit can only blame himself for this immense delay because it´s not been much of a priority despite the fact that there´s a box out there waiting containing quite some interesting pieces. I think it´s about time lol If it happens those long awaited Reviews will definitely follow!
Bestias De Combate
Another Topic in the world of Battle Beasts that was intended to be updated here on the Beastformers Blog in 2025 that didn´t happen. This is a great example of the earlier mentioned situation in which case the story, or at least most of it, is complete enough to share but the figures that should help explain it all just aren´t in the right condition (yet). Also this is a matter of time so maybe in 2026.
